Village/Moo & DewDrops ~ newborns to 18 months
Cock-a-doodle-MOO! Hop on the hayride—it’s time to head for the farm! Families will sing songs about the farm, including “Old MacDonald,”  “Hayride,” and “Clever Cows.” They’ll engage in rituals and playful activities for baby and caregiver,including infant massage, lap bounces, exercise and quiet time. A playful picturebook of animals and the sounds they make and a cage bell instrument are included in the Home Materials.

Our Time/Away We Go! ~ 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 years
Away We Go Toddlers love to GO! With toddlers’ desire to go comes an attraction to other things that go people, animals, pull toys, tricycles, cars, planes, and the list goes on. “What are things that go?” “How do they go?” “How do they sound when they go?” “Can I go like that?” “Can I make sounds like that?” Guided by these simple questions we will journey through developmentally appropriate activities relating to trains, cars, buses, horses, wagons, airplanes and boats. The two literature books are Shiny Dinah and Giddy-Up! The featured instrument are two harmonicas, one for the adult and one for the child, complete with printed instructions in the “Activity Book.”

Imagine That/Toys I Make, Trips I Take ~ 3 1/2 to 5 years (not in Kindergarten)
Toys I Make, Trips I Take What’s more exciting to a 3-or 4-year-old than a new toy? How about an entire Toy Shop full of toys! A remarkable toy shop, filled with boats, trains, balls, jack-in-the-box and many other toys is exactly what your child will enjoy. While activities are centered on a child’s pretend play and imagination, the unit firmly integrates the learning process by placing a strong musical emphasis on singing, steady beat and ensemble, as well as rhythm and rhythmic patterns. The two literature books are Tippity Tippity Too and If I Had a Big Blue Boat. A specially designed drum is the featured home instrument.

Young Child/Semester 2 ~ 5-6years (in Kindergarten/1st grade)

Semester 2 focuses on concepts such as piano/forte, crescendo/decrescendo and legato/staccato as students explore string and woodwind instruments, with the help of Peter & the Wolf, notation and even a bit of Beethoven. Children will apply their new knowledge of aural skills and reading and writing music notations as they further develop their glockenspiel skills (pre-keyboard).
NOTE: Children tend to do best in Young Child 2 if they are in Kindergarten/1st grade. New students are accepted into Young Child 2 without having taken Young Child 1. There is a lot of built in review in Young Child 2 for the benefit of new students, as well as returning.

Young Child/Semester 4 ~ CONTINUING STUDENTS ONLY
Semester 4 focuses on verse and refrains, solos and chorus and music form (ABA and rondo).  Students also review concepts from the previous semesters, such as notation, rhythms, treble clef and the complete C scale while exploring the sounds of wind instruments with the introduction of the recorder and continuing with the glockenspiel.  Your child will experience the musical styles of the Pacific Islands, Europe and Africa; plus play special dances and children’s games from around the world, including Alpine dances, Mexico and Ecuador. NOTE: New students are NOT accepted in Young Child 4 due to the sequential nature of the Young Child course. Children must have taken at least one previous semester of Young Child.

I was attacked by my Daisy cat Mon, May 23, which sent me to the ER.  She is a bit feral, even after being w/me for eight years.  She chose to come home w/me when she was about six months, just before going totally feral.

She got out of the house Sun/Sat and was out in storms.  By the time David and I could get close enough to grab her under a neighbor’s house at 9:00pm Mon May 23, she was really freakin’ out!  I laid down on the ground and grabbed her tail as it was going to be my only chance, and she attacked me.  My head has some good wounds and a HUGE goose egg from bites/scratches.  My right pinky is one huge wound w/a huge bite from all four teeth.  My elbow has two sets of bites…and numerous scratches on my arms and hands.  The ER gave me antibiotics and pain killers and something to calm my frazzled nerves last night.  Been sleeping a lot….and when I am not, thank goodness for cordless phones, laptops and TV/DVD remotes!!

OH….and folks have asked to see my ring.  It is from Timekeepers, and is from the 20s/30s.  We like ‘vintage.’

About the proposal.

So, on Fri 25 Feb 2011, David and I ate dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant, Mongolian Bar-B-Q.  We had a nice dinner, and then dessert.  I grabbed two fortune cookies in the plastic wrapping, and David says, “Oh, no, I saw fresh ones.  I’ll go get them.”  He brings back two, not in wrappers, looking exactly the same.  So we opened them, and this is what mine said, “How long has it been?  Almost nine years.  It’s time you two got married!” ;o)  I looked at it and read it at least five times while he was reading his that said, “If you microwave the fortune cookie for 15 seconds, you can change your fortune.” And I just couldn’t figure out what he was blabbing about….showed him mine…and said, “Is this for real?  Are you asking me to marry you?”  Of COURSE I said yes!  I haven’t laughed so hard in so long…if I didn’t laugh, I was going to cry!  Which I did, too.

We are going to Boston (just because we want to go to Boston)…very soon.

So…how he did this magical event….he bought cookies at a local Chinese grocery.  He heated them in the microwave for 15 seconds (hence, his ‘fortune’) and inserted MY fortune.  It couldn’t have been any better, and it was just so ‘David!”  He put these in his shirt pockets and had them there the entire time at the restaurant!

So, in short, we both have agreed to say YES!!
