Hi Lori, Just wanted to let you know I just found the deed showing Christian Burkhardt's purchase of the 21 acres on the north side of Olive. He purchased the land from and August and Lizzie Sommers on 12 Oct 1887 for $1290. I always wondered where the source was in the books published on the area so I went and found them. Now we need to rewrite some history. Actually the Historical Commission is working on that right now. Also would you please send Diana Fick Travis my email. I would love to learn what she knows. Thanks. Also have those pictures for you.

I believe I still have some banjo books and sheet music from the late 1800's when Banjo Bands were popular. I guess there were all different sizes of banjos. Four string tenors, etc.

Wonderful history. Wildwood Historical Society has some info, Bible records, history, etc. of Eatherton, Corless and more. Seeking photos of any Wildwood ancestors--will be scanned and returned. Write Joyce at St Louis Genealogical Society, PO Box 14030, St Louis 63143

Lori - The only street/roads linked to my family are Eatherton Road which I am familiar with and the Fick Farm Road which I never knew was there. I am a native of Chesterfield. In fact, my parents Kenny and Kay Fick lived on Olive in the second house from the POst Office-Bank when I was born (1950). I am Diana (Fick) Travis. My sister is Marsha. About 1955 my father built the house in front of St. Thomas up on Wild Horse Creek Rd. He and my uncle had Fick-Wolf Feed Company in Gumbo between the Inn and the Dairy Queen(?) in the mid-late 50's. The name Lori Burkhardt really is familiar. Karen Eberwein Homyk is my cousin.
Anyway, my grandparents were Andrew and Georgia (Corless) Fick. My Great-Grandparents were John Christopher and Emma Amelia (Eatherton) Corless. Herb and Nonie (Corless) Autenrieth were my Great Aunt and Uncle. At one time, we all lived in the Burkhardt area on Olive. I really would love to have any information you might be willing to share on the area down there in regard to who built the houses, etc. I have the Chesterfield's Architectural Treasures book but it is confusing to me because it appears different than the census records. It also has some errors - Andrew E. J. Fink instead of Fick. John J. Corless instead of John C. Corless. Is the house shown above the first or second house from the bank? Which other house was put on the Historical Registry? Like I said, I would love any info. Also, when we lived on Olive, there was a lady who lived in a house up on the hill behind us. Her last name was Weebee (sp). Do you know anything about her? This is a childhood memory of mine, walking up a path to visit her. She made quilts. Just curious. Thanks for anything - Diana

Lori
Enjoyed your website and was wondering if you have any of your family genealogy from about 1850 on? I am with the Chesterfield Historical Commission and think that might help us identify some old photos.
